I was born and raised in Michigan, just outside of Flint, and went to Central Michigan University to become a teacher. Instead, I started working at the student newspaper, CM Life, and the proofreading and editing bug took hold. I dropped the “education” part of my degree, graduated a semester earlier than I would have otherwise, and applied for newspaper jobs all over the country. I ended up in dusty west Texas for a few years before finding my way to sunny Florida. A few years ago, I left the newspaper world to focus on editing.

Now, I’m a writer and an editor, as well as a fiancee, dog mom to three rescue mutts and a bit of a perfectionist. I’ve been writing short stories since I was about 10 years old, and the creative bug has never left me. Every six months or so, I find a new craft to try out, or another DIY project to take on. I haven’t been brave enough yet to try out the penny countertop project. When I review any products, I will always give you my honest opinion, and I will never, ever endorse a product I wouldn’t buy myself. I am here to help you find the best products for your money, whether I paid $200 or received it for free.
